What's new for the Seawalk and barge facility?

The Seawalk Project is the least active of four waterfront development projects. For now, the Seawalk is essentially completed though we continue to do remediation at the north end. The next goal will be to extend the walk itself north to Wharf Street. Over the longer term, the ideal would still be to connect the Seawalk to the Willingdon Beach Trail.

As to the barge terminal, we should note that despite its prevalence in the waterfront area, the facility is not, per se, part of the Westview Waterfront Development as described here. To bring people up to date, the facility was closed down in February 2011 and a new barge terminal operation was set up on the Mill site.
